GIRLS G.L.O.W. MENTORING PROGRAMME

I am the Founder and CEO of Girls G.L.O.W Creatively a social and emotional development program for girls and young women aged 10-18yrs old.  Girls G.L.O.W is an acronym for Girls ‘Get Lots Of Wisdom to help them navigate and thrive in their everyday lives.  We equip the girls with life skills and tools necessary for them to be the very best version of themselves as they transition through adolescence into adulthood.

Our main focus is to build the confidence and self-esteem in every girl. We engage them in discussions and activities that focus on image and identity, their emotional and social wellbeing as well as the hopes and dreams they have for their lives. We do this in a number of creative ways using music, media, videography and various other tools.

The GIRLS G.L.O.W motto is to transform the lives of girls from the inside out so they:-

  • Believe in themselves

  • Have the courage to pursue any dream they allow themselves to dream.

  • Know how to keep their mind safe and surround themselves with healthy friendships that encourage this.

  • Are comfortable in the skin they are in and know their self value.

  • Know their voice matters and the value of being seen and heard.

  • Know the their power is in their own uniqueness.

  • Have the confidence to let their light shine in their generation.

Girls GLOW @ Maiden Lane

In 2019 the Girls Glow Project partnered with Maiden Lane community Centre and was selected to receive funding from the Mayor of London’s office. (Mayor of London Sadiq Khan pictured).

We are very grateful for this opportunity as it has given us a base in North London. We have been running weekly term-time sessions at Maiden Lane Community centre ever since. In addition to this we provide enriching activities during the school holidays, on and off site, that challenge and build resilience. This includes our annual 3 day Residential at an activity centre for the girls during the summer.

Healthy friendships

“We make new friends and get the support we need to help us build confidence and self esteem”

Activities to challenge

The girls are challenged to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.

The sense of achievement they have once they have participated is so wonderful to witness.
